So, here’s the jam:

I’m David Puckett; This is my blog. I am a Memphis resident who took a 6 year absence  (2003-2009) to operate a nuclear reactor on a submarine for the United States Navy.

I am back.

David PuckettI rediscovered Memphis and after all the places I lived and saw while in the Navy, I have to say that Memphis is my favorite city in the world. I can be frequently found playing drums at Hollywood Disco or Paula Raiford’s downtown on the weekends. I am not in a band nor do I want to be. I just like playing drums at those nightclubs.

So, What do I post on here? Basically, whatever I feel like. I have no associations nor do I answer to anyone. I tell things like I see them, but I try to be respectful to others without sacrificing my message. My interests include understanding “normal” patterned human behavior, feudal Japanese history, trivia nights at a few bars, all things zombies, and my running/drinking club.

I routinely give updates on the happenings of the city as well as commentary on news events. Feel free to join in the discussion. I had a blog at NKF (short for NothingKillsFaster) back 2000 or so. I wrote all the code and did all the graphical layout, but today’s blogging software is much more robust than I would want to implement myself and my interests don’t focus on software programming anymore. That frees me up to enjoy Memphis and spend more time on content.

I really like being me. If you like me, I appreciate it. If not, no worries.
